Motivation:

• You want to enable Windows auto login to save time used to wait for login screen and type your password every day.
• You want to temporarily disable Windows auto login when you are going to be far way from your laptop for a long time.

Solution:

1. Open Command Prompt (Admin) and execute the commands below to enable auto login.
   
   

   REG ADD "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon" /v AutoAdminLogon /t REG_SZ /d 1 /f
   :: /v - Value name.
   :: /t - Type of registry entry.
   :: /d - Data.
   :: /f - No prompting for confirmation.
   :: REG ADD does not work in .BAT file.
   REG ADD "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon" /v DefaultUserName /t REG_SZ /d YourUsername /f
   REG ADD "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon" /v DefaultPassword /t REG_SZ /d YourPassword /f
   pause

2. Execute the commands below to disable auto login.
   
   

   REG ADD "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon" /v "AutoAdminLogon" /t REG_SZ /d 0 /f
